We walk many different roads.
Different times. Different places. Different destinations. Different companions.
And we don’t always understand the path unfolding in front of us.
So we look for clues.
We search for meaning – try to make sense of what we’re encountering along the way.
Jesus says He is always with us.
But what if we can’t see him?
In Luke 24 we read about an encounter between Jesus and two of his disciples.
As the three walked along a road leading to the village of Emmaus, the disciples had no idea that they were travelling with Jesus. Blind to who they were walking with and talking to, they shared their confusion, disappointment, and disorientation.
Somehow, hidden from their sight, Jesus spoke to the heart of their deepest concerns.
“... beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.”
It wasn’t until “Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them" that
"their eyes were opened and they recognized him".
What if in our lives, it’s the same?
With Jesus, yet unaware.
An incognito Messiah journeying with people in their disorientation.
Always present.
Sensed even when unseen.
This summer we’re committed to seeing Him in the unseen places of our own stories,
and letting Scripture reveal Jesus to us in new ways. Join us!
